• Decisions regarding patient and client care should be made by clinicians in accordance with their clinical judgment.

    Physical therapists have an ethical responsibility to deliver only services that are medically necessary and in the patient's best interest, based on their independent clinical reasoning and judgment as well as objective data.

    Physical therapists who witness or become engaged in treatment or billing practices that are suspect must take appropriate steps to stop them.
